Figuring this out with you is what I am all about! I have a guide to help you all ready to send out. I work with a leader in your organization to help you plan what stories & images we want to photograph together. I’ll get to know your organization with a questionnaire & our phone consult so your images tell your story, affirm your work, and propel your mission forward. This is the work that drives me!
WHAT IF I NEED HELP TO KNOW WHAT IMAGES OUR ORGANIZATION NEEDS TO share our story?
First, we select a date & time that works for us to photograph your story then I send you our contract & booking info. At the time of booking a retainer is due to secure your date & time. This is non refundable but is transferrable if our date is not possible due to weather. The balance is due the day of our session. I do not hold dates without a paid retainer & signed contract. I am happy to answer any questions before booking so you feel ready to move forward- just ask!
How does booking & payment work?
Yes!! Travel is one of my LOVE languages. I lived overseas in Tanzania, East Africa for 4 years (I speak Swahili) & am ready to pack my gear and meet you anywhere. Travel fees apply and sometimes I take extra sessions in locations i am traveling.
I would love to join you anywhere in the world to help photograph your story. Inquire for a custom quote. You can also check my Book Me page for current travel dates.
Do you travel?
Ugh- it happens. We will watch it closely for any outdoor sessions but I usually do not cancel too far in advance (although we will decide before you get yo’ self fancy) because often weather changes and the day of we can make it work. If weather prevents us from having our session your retainer is credited to a future session (availability dependent) & we work to find a date that works for both of us.
What happens if the weather is terrible?
What if I am nervous?
That is totally normal- MOST people (including me for sure) feel awkward in front of the camera. I work hard to create an experience where your true personality comes out. I give you direction and we adjust together so it feels like YOU. We focus on prompts and actions instead of stiff poses and my clients often tell me that something they thought would be so awkward was painless, easy, & even fun! Trust the process! I am your #1 Hype Woman!
Of course- I LOVE when clients are able to share their story through their website or social media. I do not require you to use watermarked images (I think it is tacky!) but I so appreciate my clients tagging me on socials as much of my business comes from my fabulous clients recommending me to others. It is the BEST compliment and I appreciate you!!
Can we use images for our website/social media?

Can we use images for our website/social media?
Every session, event, or storytelling session is different. Usually for Family Lifestyle or Creative Portrait Sessions my clients get a gallery of 45-75 images (or more!!). Brand Storytelling Session galleries include even more! I want to give my clients ALL the beautiful & fun images we photograph together and don't charge you extra for any more over a certain amount! Events or Organization Storytelling Sessions vary depending on the number of hours of coverage. I promise I won't leave anything out and you'll get the best of the best of what we created together. I can send you a full gallery to check out if you are interested in seeing an example of a full gallery- just ask!
How many images are included?
You will get a link in your email to your gallery. The you can download your entire gallery of high-resolution images to your computer or device. I also give my clients am option to download social media size options of their gallery which is so helpful in sharing right away.
Be sure to back up the images as well somewhere safe as I do not keep images indefinitely .
I recommend saving your files in two places like Dropbox or google drive and your home computer.
How will I receive my images?
At the time of booking I send you a guide of helpful tips for a great session & we can discuss this on our phone consult. I send my clients a Look Guide and for Brand Storytelling Sessions I send my clients Pinterest boards and other resources. Basic tips are no logos, no neon colors, & don’t be too matchy-matchy. Add some items with visual interest as well! Be you!
What should I wear?
Nope. I treat my clients how I want to be treated & printing your images is your choice. You have a print release with your paid invoice. I do offer high quality printing (individual prints, books, photo canvases, etc) through your gallery link & the only way I can guarantee quality is through my site. If you do print elsewhere please choose a high quality printer that will do justice to the hand edited images. Big box stores just do not change their toner or have the quality to allow your images to look amazing.
Am I required to purchase prints?
Real talk: imperfectly perfect images that share your authentic story are what this is all about.
I want to encourage you to embrace your right now & I am going to encourage you to live fully into your fabulous selves at our session. I will not use photoshop generative fill to manipulate your images to a point that it is not authentic to the moment or location.
Life starts TODAY- it is all we have! I'm not about making people look thinner, fake, or unrealistic. In my opinion there is too much of that in our world. I want to photograph the REAL stuff; your messy & beautiful life. Because THOSE are the moments that matter. THOSE are the moments you're going to want to remember in 10, 20, 50 years. Of course, if your child scratched themselves or you got a pimple or you accidentally got mud on your jeans (something that is temporary) I will definitely do slight retouching that in our images.
Will you photoshop us in our session?
Nope. Editing your images is part of my expertise that you hire me for so watch what magic we create together. I consider it part of the art form of storytelling & I spend a lot of time hand editing each image in your gallery. Editing style is an important part of choosing a photographer so I always recommend choosing one based on their portfolio and if you like their work- if you like the style I share on my website & socials that will be consistent in your gallery. I hope we build trust with one another & I am confident you will love the final result.
