Accomplishment & Beauty

Jasmine shared that what she most hoped to capture in our session was these 2 words; accomplishment & beauty. She embraces and embodies these words about herself. Her story thus far is one of true accomplishment & beauty! Her mentor through Foster Progress LaShawn reached out because she wanted to celebrate Jasmine with a Senior Lifestyle Session. It was an honor to be invited to capture this moment in her life.

She invited friends; some of which she has had since she was 5 years old as well as her mentor and family to her session. It is a visual reminder that we all make it through life’s challenges with community. Jasmine is a strong young woman with so many big things ahead as she starts college in the fall.

Jasmine shared what makes her unique, “I think it is my ability to overcome a lot of things and make good out of the bad. I’m drawn to strong positive people, art, music, and fun.” She is drawn to people LIKE HER; strong & positive people. Perhaps that is why the relationship between her and LaShawn is so special. I captured them before for Foster Progress.

Jasmine shares “being in foster care has been really hard emotionally, physically, and mentally and even though it has made such an impact on my life I’m so grateful to have this moment to capture this time in my life where I can finally say ‘I made it!”

“I’ve been through so much pain and trauma and even though there has been a lot of challenges I’ve overcome them and still made it to 18, graduated, and on my way to college and doing great things in my life,” Jasmine shared.
