Hands Across Chicago is an event where many local churches come together across the city of Chicago to pray blessings and peace over their city. Our family was invited to join the The Chinese Christian Union Church in partnership with the Pui Tak Center in their efforts to pack and distribute food boxes to local families in need in their community. They also gathered to pray in language groups for blessings on the businesses in Chinatown- many of the businesses have been negativity impacted by the pandemic and the rise in anti-Asian discrimination. You can support their work here. This was one of 75 sites throughout the city gathering on Memorial Day- the start of the summer to pray for Chicago. David Wu welcomed everyone and shared about their passion to love their neighbors in Chinatown well. After David Wu led everyone in opening in prayer folks broke up into language groups of Cantonese, Mandarin, and English speakers so everyone could participate in their heart language. It was a powerful day spent learning from local leadership from the Chinatown community.
I’m a visual storyteller photographing emotion, connection, and the beauty in the messy.
I work with families, couples, and bold individuals to tell their stories with heart—
and partner with nonprofits and purpose-driven brands to share their impact with intention, dignity, and excellence.
