Recently I was invited to teach a Intro to Photography Class with some amazing young people with Traverse, a program of Foster Progress and It was a blast and the students had excellent questions- at the end of the class we decided we needed a morning of Creative Portrait Sessions and these images are what we created together. Thank you to Rachel, the program director and Breyah, Brighton, and Addy; you all made portraits in Chicago such a blast!
Rachel shared, “I truly appreciated Roxanne’s willingness to partner with Traverse. Our students are truly amazing and she did such a great job of bringing the energy to make them feel at ease and to bring out their true identities and really make them shine, as the great people they are, and that the world needs to see more of!”
This is my favorite work and I just loved partnering with these powerful and amazing young people.
Breyah is an ER nurse with dreams for entrepreneur endeavors- I cannot wait to see where her vision and skills take her! Breyah shared, “I absolutely enjoy my experience with Roxanne. She was able to capture my true essence on a few single shots. Thank you so much!”
Brighton will be a Senior this next year and his energy and willingness to learn and ask thoughtful and insightful questions impressed me during the Intro to Photography class I lead at Traverse. I was so excited to partner with him for some Senior Creative Portraits. He shared, “Roxanne was very professional and easy to work with. She gave great suggestions for backdrops and environments while also encouraging the subjects desires.”
Addy is a podcaster and loves reflecting and sharing her journey as she encourages others in their own journey. She shared, “Immediately I felt a warmth of Roxanne’s heart when we met to do our photoshoot together. I was uncomfortable posing in front of the camera at first but Roxanne helped me embrace my artistic expression. Thank you Roxanne for capturing the beauty and light within myself. And the backdrops are unreal! Thank you, it makes me so happy to see myself smile genuinely thank you- this was more than I was expecting!“
