Styles 4 Kidz Gala was held at The Nineteenth Century Club in Oak Park, Illinois again this year (check out last year’s gala day here). Styles 4 Kidz knows how to show up fabulous and celebrate all the great work the organization does in serving their clients, impacting families, and creating an amazing community in the salon.
We started the day with some families that have been impacted by S4K’s mission and then we met at the salon location and updated stylist images and group images before everyone got fabulous and headed over to the Gala. It was a beautiful night listening to live music, enjoying great food, and most important hearing about the impact of S4K locally and around the world.
Tamekia Swint, the founder and executive director thanked everyone and shared stories of S4K’s impact and asked those gathered “What’s your dream?” and shared more about her dream to start S4K and allow all children to feel cultural pride in their hair and skin. Stylists and volunteers were also recognized for their dedication and there was auctions and raffles and eve I could not resist the dancing to end the night (announcement: do not invite me to photograph your event if I cannot dance because I just MUST!)
It was an inspirational night with some amazing leaders. It is such a joy to partner with S4K for their ongoing storytelling needs. Thank you Tamekia and everyone at Styles 4 Kidz!
