I loved joining the WJHS Cheer Squad for a Media day like session to celebrate a great season! The Westmont Junior High School Cheer Team cheers at both the girls and boys basketball seasons.
Liz Meneses is one of the leaders and coaches of the Westmont Junior High shared some of the highlights of this year, “We haven’t had a competitive cheer team since 2019 and 37 girls tried out for the competition team this year and we can only have 20 on the squad. It was a huge turn out! Our first competition at Old Quarry middle school we placed 2nd out of 7 teams and our second competition at FREMD High School we placed 6th out of 13 teams. They also just placed 2nd in our conference!” Liz is grateful for “so much talent and an amazing coaching staff.”
So much to celebrate this season! Come out and support them as they perform their competition routine this Friday during halftime of the WHS Boys Varsity Basketball game.
