Alex & Christie wanted to photograph their life right now as they look forward to growing their family in the near future through adoption. Adoption is part of our family’s journey and I always love partnering with folks on that journey as well. Once we chatted on the phone I could not wait to meet them and hang out and photograph them. Christie & Alex have been married for 3 1/2 years and have experienced so much in those years and her perspective is inspiring, “it has given us a depth that far surpasses the years of marriage under our belt, for that we are thankful.”
We choose several locations meaningful to them and did an extended Lifestyle Session to document their life together right now. It was a privilege to hang out with them and I am so excited to stay in touch and see the little one they welcome to their family.
Christie sent me this review after gallery delivery and I started tearing up. THIS is why I do this work- and THANK YOU all for inviting me in:
“We were referred to Roxanne by a friend who simply said “you will love her” and they weren’t wrong. My husband and I were so anxious about taking photos for our adoption process and from the second I spoke with Roxanne, those anxieties melted away. She just got it. We had quite a list to tackle that day, and she was totally up for the adventure – making us laugh and putting us at ease the whole time. Her personality is infectious and we quickly felt like we were just spending time with a friend. When we then saw the pictures she took, we both cried. Roxanne captured us exactly as we are right now, and in the process made the imperfections we so typically see, melt away into the background. She brought out the joy, the laughter, and the love.“
