“We have walked with each other through so much hard. We are committed to journeying together through it and supporting each other. We have helped each other find joy and moments of happiness through it.” Leah and Tyler are newly engaged and after so much hard in their lives they are finding new joy and I feel grateful to be invited in to help them truly see their right now.
Leah shared that she was nervous about our engagement session and I totally get it- being in front of the lens is vulnerable– but I asked her to lean and I am so grateful they trusted the process too.
I asked Tyler and Leah what they hoped to see in their images and Leah said, “I want to feel our happiness that we have with each other. There’s been so much hard that we’ve walked through with each other. And sometimes, I have felt a lot of guilt for feeling happy despite all of the pain and grief. I want to look at these photos and have them be a reminder that happiness and joy and hope are gifts from God that are meant to be accepted.“
After seeing our images Leah shared, “These images are a reminder of God’s goodness in my life. I also get to carry joy, hope, and excitement. I see in these photos God’s promises for me and His love for me. And I can’t stop looking at them with tears of happiness in my eyes.” THIS is why photography means so much to me- I am so thankful for my amazing clients welcoming me in to their beautiful, messy stories.
I am so excited to be with them documenting their wedding day in late summer. Congrats Tyler + Leah!
