Every year I book my own brand photography session.
Yes, even as a brand photographer myself. And no, it’s not because I just love being in front of the camera (spoiler: I get nervous too).
It’s because I know my business is constantly evolving and my visuals need to evolve with it. This year I had the opportunity to partner with talented photographer and we traded for our sessions on our mentorship retreat (see my images of them here).
Here’s why I make this investment every single year:
1️⃣ My brand changes, because I change.
As entrepreneurs, our offers, style, and messaging shift as we grow. Evolve baby- editing is brave! Outdated images can quietly tell the wrong story.
2️⃣ It builds my confidence to show up.
Seriously- if you need a confidence boost BOOK THE SESSION- I love the hype (with the right photographer). When I have a fresh gallery I’m excited about, posting, sharing, and showing up feels a whole lot easier.
3️⃣ It keeps my brand recognizable & top of mind.
Consistent, high-quality visuals help clients remember me and more importantly, trust me. I want everyone to think of me FIRST when they need a Brand Photographer so I show up in my brand.
4️⃣ I believe in what I do and what I offer my clients.
If I’m asking my clients to invest in telling their brand story, I need to practice what I preach and have that same commitment in my own business.
So yep, I’m already planning my next session because the return is so much more than pretty photos. It’s alignment, confidence, and connection with the people I’m here to serve.
