Emily Huckabee Designs is the work of an interior designer who turned a personal passion into a business in 2024. After years of renovating her own homes and discovering just how much she loved the creative process of building a space from the ground up, Emily decided to bring that same skill and intuition to clients — helping them transform houses into homes through new builds, renovations, and full redesigns. Her brand is timeless, nourishing, and creative, with a calming, comforting quality that runs through every space she touches. She’s just as drawn to the big-picture vision as she is to the small details — pulling fabrics and trims, mapping floor plans, sourcing furnishings, and styling the finishing accessories that make a room feel complete.
Above all, Emily wants her clients to fall in love with their own spaces — to feel so at home that they never want to leave. Her design philosophy centers on comfort and approachability: rooms that are cozy and livable, not stiff or showroom-perfect. She’s building a brand that feels sophisticated but fun, polished and professional, yet still creative and intelligent proof that a beautifully designed home doesn’t have to feel unapproachable to feel elevated. Gracious is the word that ties it all together: spaces, and an experience, that make people feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.
Behind the scenes, Emily is currently a one-woman operation, wearing every hat in the business; creative director, client liaison, contract writer, scope planner, sourcer, procurer, vendor liaison, move-in coordinator, and bookkeeper, all in one. That hands-on involvement in every detail of a project is part of what makes her work so personal; she’s not just designing a space, she’s managing the entire journey of bringing it to life, start to finish. For the brand shoot, this is worth capturing: the creative process behind the polish, and the genuine warmth of someone who’s building something rejuvenating, one livable, beautiful space at a time.
“I want my clients to feel in love with their space as if they never want to leave. That the space, is comfortable, cozy and approachable, non-stuffy.”
Emmy shared her experience with her session, “It was really helpful to zoom ahead of time to create a list of props and think about the vignettes we wanted. You totally made me feel at ease when I’m not typically very comfortable being the center of attention. I’ve never really liked photographs of myself until now. Your photos were amazing and I got so much more material than I ever imagined. Thank you so much!!”
