If we truly believe that all people are created in the image of God then ANY assault on that truth must cause us to lament. We must acknowledge, lament, inform ourselves, repent, and take action is response to a year long spike in violence again the AAPI community. May we not let this moment pass without increasing in love that motivates us to do the work of justice.
Soong-Chan Rah shared recently, “I ask that you do not ignore or brush aside the events of last week, particularly the hate crime perpetrated against Asian women. Please do not ignore the eight dead bodies and please do not ignore the pain that is acutely felt by the AAPI community. Instead, please join us in our grief.”
